Dr. Carmine Bausone
Dr. Carmine BausoneDr. Bausone grew up in a suburb of Los Angeles. While in high school he realized he wanted to be a veterinarian. To that end he attended the University of California Davis where he acquired both his Bachelor of Science degree in 1992 and his Veterinary degree in 1996. While at UC Davis he developed an interest in Avian and Exotic animal medicine. He spent his first two years of clinical practice as an exotic animal veterinarian in Fairfax, Virginia. He has spent the subsequent years treating both traditional dog and cat patients as well as avian and exotic animal patients.

Dr. Bausone has been a veterinarian at Acacia Animal Health Center since 2000 and a managing partner since 2004. He is interested in becoming board certified in avian medicine and is currently pursuing his certification in veterinary acupuncture. He keeps an open mind to complementary modes of therapy and offers acupuncture and herbal therapy services in addition to his traditional western therapy.

Dr. Bausone keeps himself on the cutting edge of veterinary medicine by frequently attending veterinary medical conferences. Perhaps more importantly he prides himself in providing compassionate care for both patients and their caretakers. He likes to have fun while working and views his patients as friends and family. Dr. Bausone, his wife and son enjoy their lives in Valley Center. They spend most of their time outdoors with their pets, Willow, Max and Jake (the dogs), Bizzare and Pearl (the horses), Angel, Cooper and Gonzo (the birds) and Senior Tortuga (the tortoise). Dr. Bausone's hobbies include raising his son, hiking, landscaping and cooking. His favorite foods are sweets and all types of Ethnic foods.

Dr. Tanya Adams
Dr. Tanya AdamsDr. Adams grew up in Merced, California in the central San Joaquin Valley. She went to college at UC Santa Barbara and majored in Biological Science, intending to go to medical school and become a physician. After hearing a presentation from a veterinarian at school, she realized that veterinary medicine was her true calling. This profession would allow her to work with the animals she loved and be able to practice both medicine and surgery.

After college, she attended UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 1997. Dr. Adams practiced in the San Francisco Bay Area for two years before moving to San Diego to practice at a veterinary hospital in the South Bay. She began working at Acacia in 2003 after buying a house in North County. She is a member of the San Diego Veterinary Medical Association and practices canine and feline medicine and surgery with special interest in dentistry and dermatology.

Dr. Adams now lives in San Marcos with her husband and daughter. They share their home with a cat named Peanut, and a greyhound, MacTavish.

Dr. Adams's favorite foods are pizza and hot fudge brownie sundaes! She's also a See's Candy connoisseur!

Dr. Carrie Bone
Dr. Carrie BoneCarrie Bone grew up in San Diego, where she used to try to make dogs and cats feel better by whispering songs in their ears. Eventually, she took the more traditional route in helping animals. She graduated from Occidental College in 1997 where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry. She then attended U.C. Davis Veterinary Medical School from 2000 to 2004. At Davis, Dr. Bone developed particular interest in small animal nutrition, cardiology, and endoscopic procedures. She also enjoyed working at Mercer Veterinary Clinic in Sacramento, where veterinary care was offered to pets of the homeless.

Dr. Bone now resides in Del Mar, where she can check out the waves every morning. She lives with her dog Rita, who is quite possibly the most fabulous dog in the world. She is currently dating Padres shortstop Kahlil Greene (although he doesn't know it yet). She is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association. She wants everyone to know how excited she is to be working here at Acacia and enjoys being part of such an awesome team.
